From Oct. 6 through Oct. 12, there were 14 crime report entries, with six charges of assault and one charge of animal cruelty, according to the Cleveland State University Sixty Day Crime Log.
Of the six assault counts, four remain open, and one involved marijuana and drug possession.
Four of the entries were supervisory smoke alarms and two of the entries involved obstruction of official business, both of which ended in arrests made.
The number of reports over the last few weeks have remained consistent, with 14 crime reports last week–excluding safety escorts, which were included–and 15 the week before.
Using the Sixty Day Crime Log that is available in person and online at the Cleveland State University Police Department website, the list of crime reports from the past week have been compiled into one list, excluding the campus safety escorts.

According to the CSU Police Department website, CSU publishes this information “as part of Cleveland State University’s commitment to a safe and informed campus community,” and it is in compliance with the Federal Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 (renamed the Jeanne Clery Act in 1998) and the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act.
*Update: Cleveland State PR reached out and informed The Cauldron of a data entry issue, which has since been corrected by CSU PD. The new version of the Sixty Day Crime Log for the week of Oct. 6 through Oct. 12 no longer includes the campus safety escorts, which brought the official number of crime report entries down from 324 to 14.
