Troubles at The Edge continued during the second week of classes, according to the Cleveland State University Sixty Day Crime Log.
Two separate counts of petty theft and an incident involving criminal trespass and loitering occurred at The Edge, none of which resulted in arrests. Following one incident at The Edge per day from Jan. 23 through Jan. 25, the CSU Student Government Association discussed these concerns in the first senate meeting of the semester on Jan. 26.
One student living at The Edge shared her thoughts on package thefts at The Edge with The Cauldron:
“I haven’t had a package stolen, but one of my friends has. I just don’t want to take that risk, so I only order things from Amazon and have them delivered to the Amazon center down the street.”
Aside from The Edge, incidents at Berkman Hall, the Physical Education Building, and the Music and Communications Building all resulted in arrests on Jan. 26 and Jan. 27. Among other charges, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and resisting arrest were set for Berkman Hall and the Music and Communications Building.
Also at the Physical Education Building, vandalism, tampering with evidence, aggravated menacing, and obstructing official business led to arrest.
Three fire alarms and three supervisory smoke alarms accounted for the bulk of the reports.
Using the Sixty Day Crime Log that is available in person and online at the Cleveland State University Police Department website, the list of crime reports from the past week have been compiled into one list, excluding the campus safety escorts.
